Description: Up for your consideration is this beautiful shipwreck coin of superior condition! A 10 cash copper coin recovered off the wreck of the Admiral Garner. This copper coin was minted in England, for the British East India Company (EIC), in 1808. They are some of the first coins in the world to be minted by steam power. Destined to be used at the EIC trading posts in India, they were loaded on board the East Indiaman, Admiral Gardner. But on January 24, 1809, she was caught in a storm in the English Channel and sank on Goodwin Sands, never to be seen again until 1985. This particular coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition with remarkable original luster and has been authenticated and slabbed by NGC. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence!
