Great springs, bolts ... meh Rated by Dhturk on January 14, 2022 Summary: Springs are a great improvement over the stock worn out springs. Softer ride over bumps (e.g., railroad tracks, differing payment heights). Not too hard to install, but its a lot easier with two when installing the rear eyelet in rear hanger; one to push/pull on spring, and one to insert the pin/shaft. The ride height did drop, but not too much in my case (3/4") since one of the previous owners had taken two leaves out of the eight leaf springs. Major issue are the ubolts. First, they didnt have the shorties that go with the springs so they sent the long ones (much longer). Second, the threads dont go high enough on some of the bolts which require washers be used between the nut and mount on the front axle. Didnt realize it until I had threaded a few of the nuts to the top of the treads and they werent contacting the axle. Had to remove the self tightening nuts, install some washers I had on hand, and reinstall (on those long bolts). Guess I should have checked the threads ahead of time. Will go back in a few days and replace those washers with grade 8 washers, plus add them to the other bolts that had ok threads.
