Description: The Ozark Antiquarian The Ozark Antiquarian STORE COLLECTIBLES ART HISTORICAL Frosted Porcelier Lighting Fixtures Porcelier fixtures, original to the house I was told, and the appear to be similar to ones they made for Montgomery Ward's in the 1940s, based on catalogs I've seen. All glass. Very heavy, approx 1/4" thick glass. Note missing the finial (the screw thing that holds it on - I lost it I guess). All 3 I have match. I think the design is called floral, or lily or something... heart shaped.. I can't recall what they called that... floral background... Approx 12 5/16" across at top, 4" tall at tallest point. Rare design! A bit of ivory, sepia type color / frosted; design on sides is mostly clear. Well well... the shack was built in 1940, late, for the builder's mother or sister, and they used these nice fixtures; did not stay long, house was sold to 'new' owner until he died in 2016; estate got rid of the house and now I'm in it. Not much was updated since the one remodel in 1970 - even had an Andy Griffith gas heater for heat (the one in his office, in the corner!). The original Square D two breaker 35 amp service was just kinda... old... and "vandalized" (I think the old man jumped the meter!) so had to have electrician put in new service, and installed new conduit wiring in most rooms. So... that leaves me with these 3 fixtures, and I just can't justify keeping something so costly as much as I like them.
