I think the previous owner was laying down on the ground a lot in nature while camping or whatever. There are not stains or holes; they are just spots where the fleece has kind of been poked at. The front is perfect, just normal wear. For these reasons, I recommend this for outdoor/nature activities or for someone that lives in a rugged environment; it'll keep you real warm and you can do your worst in it knowing that it's already been through it. I mean, I would definitely casually wear this out, but I like grungy stuff. The item is still thick, and it's such high quality that the back is more of a slight, cosmetic problem rather than a functional one. You can't really notice it.
