The Pilgrimage began in 1918 as a tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Battle of the Alamo on San Jacinto Day. It consists of a processional of military, community groups, and individuals who walk from the Tobin Center Vietnam War Memorial and culminates with a wreath laying ceremony at the Alamo. Interesting piece of San Antonio / The Alamo history. I acquired this and a few others from the estate of a former San Antonio Mayor from the 1930's. This to me is the nicest of them all, cover appearance wise that I have. I have a few other programs from the Pilgrimage I am listing (4 others from the 1930's and 3 from the 1950's). I have lived here in SA 60 years and have never come across another one of these from any year. To me, some of the more interesting / coolest items I have comes across in years. In Excellent condition. No tears, stains or writing on it. Everything inside is in Excellent / Like New condition. It has a black string that wraps around the spine. This invitation was sent to (Hon.) C.K. Quin. He was mayor of San Antonio (Texas) from 1933 to 1939 and 1941 to 1943, then served as judge of the 57th District Court from 1943 to 1960. You can searched the net and find an article on his career / life. ***I came across some interesting early 1930's - 50's ephemera from this mayor / judge and this is one of them.
