Description: This really nice HO gauge loco by PIKO is 59581 a German BR 118 Diesel Locomotive in blue Infraluena (a chemical company) livery. It has the running number 205. The DR Class V 180 of the Deutschen Reichsbahn (from 1970 Class 118, later DBAG Class 228) was a class of the largest diesel locomotives built in the German Democratic Republic. The manufacturer was Lokomotivbau Karl Marx Babelsberg (LKM). The V 180 was intended to accelerate the change of traction on the Deutsche Reichsbahn and therefore replace various steam locomotive classes in use on the main lines. A few remain in operation today. This example is in mint/new condition (see pictures). It is tested and runs with working lights. The box is a little shelf worn - see pictures. This locomotive is really just very nice and high quality. This loco would look great on a layout. Do please have a look at my other listings, I typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.
