Description: Faience Earthenware Pottery Dinner Plate manufactured by Pierre Motton Paris to commemorate the lifetime of Napoleon Bonaparte. The faience glazed cream colored plate features relief border and jasperware type portrait medallion in sage green as well as the birth and death dates of Napoleon Bonaparte. On the underside of the plate are the makers marks and the designation of the number for this limited edition plate. This collectors edition plate is number 1463 of the edition of 2000 believed to have been produced to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's death. The plate is presented in its original box along with certification papers in both french and english text highlighting key events in Napoleon's life along with the "Les Rois de France" numbered certificate for No. 01463 of the edition of 2000. The mint condition plate is 10 3/4" in diameter and presented in the box that is 11" square and 1" in height. The mint condition box is covered in a linen fabric that has some slight unobjectionable finger soiling that can be seen in the last two photos.
