Picturesque America, The Land We Live In Volumes I & II (two books)

Description: Very beautiful and commanding Two Volume set of Picturesque America. There is some light wear on the cover, and yellowing of the pages. There is an inscription that this was a gift given in 1875 but otherwise no sign of heavy use. This is the first edition of these books. They are brown leather with embossed gilt title, marbled endpapers, and gold edges. The flaws I found are shown in photos: Volume One: Was used a leaf press and some shadows of the leaves were left Sign of moisture at one point on top crease of some pagesBinding is wearing on marble page, but difficult to seeVolume Two:The leather cover on the back has a raised tearSign of moisture at one point in bottom cornersBinding is wearing on marble page, but difficult to see (similar to volume I)Other than these flaws this book is in wonderful shape for the age.
