Phyllis Londraville (1920- 2002), created and became best known for her genre paintings, which were developed around themes related to children, the circus, kittens, dolls, puppets and flower gardens. The two major themes of her life were art and fantasy. Born into a family of artists, Phyllis attended the Chouinard Art Institute, where she was awarded a scholarship. Because of her eye for design, she had a career working both in New York and Los Angeles. Phyllis widely exhibited her paintings, receiving numerous awards, including the Lillian Prest Ferguson Award for Outstanding Woman Artist in 1989. She was elected fellow of the American Institute of Fine Arts for superiority in painting.
