It is based on a Gokosha lens checker that is an excellent Japanese built autocollimator. The unit utilizes a camera slider for a pedestal set to hold collimator and tested lens in close alignment for the purpose of checking and setting absolute optical infinity. The image of the collimator test reticle is displayed on an Ikan on-board monitor to eliminate subjective test results. It utilizes a fiber-optic light source for input and a digital micrometer thimble for accurate focal-plane setting and optical distance error measurement. This lens checker can also be used to check the accuracy of photographic camera viewing systems using a known-good test lens. This set breaks down for easy storage or transport in 4 easily handled parts.
