'Pink, would you go down to Schmidts the Hatters' and bring me my new derby hat?' Creator(s): Swinnerton, Jimmy, 1875-1974, artist Date Created/Published: 1915 Dec. 5 [publication date] Summary: PHOTO ONLY of Thirteen-frame comic strip. Pinkey is toting a baby in his wagon when Mr. Thompson asks him to fetch his new hat. Pinkey goes to Schmidts and picks up the hat, but on the way back the baby starts to play with the box. A tramp holding a disheveled cap spots the new hat, and picks it up once the baby has dropped it in the road. Buck, the dog, lunges for the tramp's leg and chases the tramp. Pinkey is surprised to see the empty hatbox when he reaches Mr. Thompson's house. He is sitting on a curb when Buck brings him the new hat. Notes: Copyright 1915 by the Star Company.
