Among the components that could be added to the system was this Model 6000 Audio Delay Series Two. This was an A. P. Van Meter design. Varying degrees of delay could be selected. This component was also the choice of rock and jazz bands for use in live concerts.This preamp shows the genius of Bob Carver and the design team. Using the controls; the soundstage can be colored to your room. I asked my tech with 25 years working for Fluke to calibrate and refurbish this to ORG standards. This has been done and performs as intended. It is recommended that the operator read and understand the owner's manual for optimal performance. Org box is of course; included and this will be double boxed.These phase linear where manufactured before the invention of CD's.If you play CD's thru them, you are running the risk of over driving the pre amp stage.DO NOT put CD source into this equipment.Play only reel to reel tape, 8 track, Cassette tape or vinyl.. We start with a visual inspection of all internal components to make sure there are no signs of stress or aging. Capacitors are checked for telltale sings of bulging or leaking, resistors are checked for signs of overheating or cracking, and transistors are checked for signs of stress or damage. Special attention is paid to the power supply which is the most common source of failure for preamps. We then power up the unit and run a simple 1k sine wave while monitoring the low voltage output on an oscilloscope for signs of distortion or noise to get a baseline.At this point we will lubricate and clean all switches and potentiometers (that are not sealed) with a high quality contact cleaner, and then re-test all functions for any signs of noise or scratching.
