Description: This is a 1997 Columbia House Collector's Edition VHS tape of Petticoat Junction, the classic 1963-70 sitcom. The theme of this tape, which is on the spine, is "Pot Luck." Featured are four episodes, the first two in black and white: "Bobbie Jo and the Beatnik" (airdate 1/7/64), "There's No Business With Show Business" (6-15-65), "County Fair" (2-8-66), and "Wings" (11-9-68). The first episode guest-stars Dennis Hopper as the beatnik, and it is one of few without Linda Kaye Henning. The second episode is the final b/w episode and the last one for Jeannine Riley and Pat Woodell. It co-stars and was co-written by George O'Hanlon, voice of George Jetson, with Felix Silla also appearing. The third episode features a crossover appearance by Pat Buttram of Green Acres, playing Mr. Haney. Gunilla Hutton is credited but doesn't appear. The fourth episode guest-stars Richard Arlen and Charles "Buddy" Rogers, stars of the 1927 movie Wings, who appear in Pixley for the 40th anniversary of the film to make up for their not appearing there in 1927 (they had a choice then of The Roxy in New York City or the Pixley theater). The fourth episode has the retooled main title featuring only Edgar Buchanan's credit, plus a nifty dance by Lori Saunders. Columbia House liner notes written by Stephen Cox. The tape played fine in my VCR straight through, in SP speed. The two b/w episodes have sponsor logos in the end credits, Tide in one episode and Ivory in the other. The two color episodes open with the CBS color announcement. All episodes are uncut and run more than 25 minutes each.
