My Father, portfolio of 16 original lithographs, 1969, each one signed and numbered 40/100, sheets 20.5 x 15.5 inches, housed in blue cloth portfolio complete with two blue end sheets, printed by Mourlot on Arches paper. The artist's record of the chaotic human drama surrounding his father's final illness, housed in a dark blue cloth folding case with the artist's signature in gold on the cover. Provenance from the estate of the pioneering tattoo artist, fine artist and sculptor, Nick Bubash, Pittsburgh, PA. Peter Paone was born in Philadelphia and educated at the Philadelphia College of Art. He has taught at Pratt Institute in New York, The National Academy of Design in New York and since 1978 at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He has received numerous grants and awards including two Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grants, a Pennsylvania Council for the Arts Grant, the 172nd Annual Painting Prize from The National Academy of Design, and three years in London on a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. His work has been featured in many solo exhibitions in both the United States and Europe.
