Description: Offered is a Pete Rose signature on a spiral-bound copy of “The Dowd Report”, the Major League Baseball document that led to the former Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos and Philadelphia Phillies star’s lifetime ban from baseball. Rose has signed his name in blue marker across the brown paper cover of the 225-page report compiled by Special Counsel to the Commissioner John M. Dowd submitted to Commissioner A. Bartlett Giamatti in May 1989. The document is bound with a brown plastic spiral and is printed on white paper. The report, published in June 1989, was accompanied by seven volumes of exhibits, which included bank and telephone records, alleged betting records, expert reports, and transcripts of interviews with Rose and other witnesses. Rose was ultimately placed on baseball's ineligible list in August 1989. The most controversial conclusion of the report, that Rose had bet on baseball games while managing the Cincinnati Reds, was confirmed 15 years later by Rose himself through his autobiography. This item comes with a COA from JSA for Pete’s signature.
