Description: We have a cat who can't help herself...she has to play in the water bowls and when possible, tip them over. We tried several automatic fountains and while she couldn't tip this one, she learned how to take the lid off to uncover the magical water source Works great, just doesn't work for our needs. It has an unobtrusive sleek design and is super quiet. Nice and sturdy and fits 2 liters so doesn't need to constantly be refilled like some others we tried. The box says it's for cats, birds, and small animals. I could see it being good for birds too. It's shallow by the fountain and a little deeper as you get closer to the drain. It does have a place for a carbon activated filter but it's not necessary for it to function. We just used the Brita to fill all of the ones we tried opposed to adding another item to keep track of and store. Also this has a secondary filter surrounding the pump that you rinse and reuse; catches larger debris (hair, grass, fake moss from the fake plants in the house *our girl is a MESS lol*) Standard USB into cube into outlet for power source. USB cube not included Pump and everything inside fully detach for easy cleaning however it is stainless steel which does tend to show water spots/fingerprints around the sides
