What is a Lithophane?Printed lithophanes are 3D Prints made from a translucent plastic that come to life with amazing depth when backlit! The plastic is formed at varying layer heights which give the print its different shades. Thinner areas means more light and a lighter shade on the image, with thicker parts letting less light through forming darker shades. What options are there?Your photos (x4) will be custom 3D printed in (3x 145mmx105mm & 1x 130mmx85mm panels) and fitted to a large steel lantern in your choice of black or white (select at Checkout). Your lantern will be backlit with a Bright Cool White 100 Lumen LED light. These LED's consume very low power and have a very long lifetime.The lantern is powered with a standard USB connection with 1.3m long cable so you can enjoy your print anywhere! The cable also has an in line power switch to turn your lantern on/off easily. What kind of photos can be used?Any! Baby Photos, Weddings, Family Photos and even scans of old B&W pictures are most popular! We have recently been printing baby hands and feet which have been hugely popular! These look fantastic and are a great keepsake or gift for the birth of a precious new baby. These can be printed by simply providing a clear photo of your baby's flat hand or foot.
