Description: Media mail can sometimes take much longer than the estimate. I have no control over that. I'm offering priority mail as an option. It's faster and more reliable, but not infallible. Unfortunately it is much more expensive than media mail. _______________________________________________ Feel free to make offers on my listings. I am not offended by offers. By the same token, don't be offended if I decline an offer. It's not personal. If you wish to message me, send the message separately from offers. Otherwise, I may not receive it. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bindings are fragile. Front cover hinges are split. Binding of text portion is holding together, but shows spreading between some pages. It looks as if pages might easily come loose if not handled carefully. Ex-library books with usual markings and card pouches. Both books have marking in the text. With volume one, there is pencil underlining first 37 pages. No marking noted thereafter. There is what appears to be an ink splash stain on page 73. Legibility is good. Volume 2 has light notational markings throughout the book. These mostly consist of two parallel lines in margin, but there is also some notes and underlining. Again, legibility is good. These are the first two volumes of a collection called 'Periods of European Literature', with each volume covering a different period, and written by a different author. Vol. 1, The Dark Ages, W. P. Ker, 1904, 361 pages Vol. 2, The Flourishing if Romance, George Saintsbury, 1907, 429 pages. Books measure 7.75 x 5.25 inches. These are usable books and can be read in their entirety, but must be handled with care.
