This offering consists of an entire magazine which primarly feature a story entitled "PAUL HORNUNG - THE FANS MADE HIM A STAR". Memorabilia as saved from a 1961 American Pictorial Magazine. Recites the story of Paul Hornung and his coming to the pro's. Few will remember it now but the fact cannot be disputed that Hornung was kinda lost the early years in his pro football career. Quarterback was out of the question, after all, he was a running quarter back and the pro's didn't want those kind. He tried all the other positions in the backfield with little success. Seems, however, that a coach came along named Vice Lombardi and inserted Hornung as halfback--and proved to be one of the best ever to don a uniform. Nice portrait. The page are 11 by 12 7/8 inches in excellent condition.
