Parker 45 Flighter The Parker 45 Flighter was designed as an upmarket all metal version following the success of the plastic bodied pens, with the name continuing the Parker tradition in calling their stainless steel pens “Flighter”. Introduced in 1964 the original 45 Flighter consisted of a brushed steel body with chrome arrow clip, clutch ring and a black plastic end cap at the base of the barrel. True generational pen by Parker, the very tough, durable solid stainless steel model 45. These pens are nearly indestructible. The model 45 was Parker's great engineering achievement for its time. The pen was originally aimed as a mid class pen, but soon its popularity grew so much, that Parker started to produce high-end luxurious variations of it with gold trim, the deluxe models. Parker 45's are famous for their design, ease of use, durability and versatility. This stainless steel models are virtually indestructible, thick stainless steel brushed finished, its impossible to ding or damage. The pencil is a push button mechanism, smooth and precise. The ballpoint pen is fitted with a solid stainless steel tip for long and demanding work, great for work on any paper, very good and smooth writer. Both pen and pencil are very heavy which gives them a great balance, nice feel and grip in the hand. The set comes in its original presentation box, superb looks. This auction is for a vintage approx. 1970'S Parker "45" DELUXE GOLD TRIM FLIGHTER ballpoint pen and matching mechanical pencil set in their original box with price tags. Condition: This vintage set was found in the estate of a lovely lady that passed recently. She received the set as a gift for her birthday back in the 1970's. She thought it was too good for everyday use, so she put it away, forever! It still had the store price tags. The only blemish, the ink in the cartridge has dried and there is a bit of scribbling inside the box cover. As such, I am selling it "AS IS" NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS, and pricing it accordingly.
