Description: This listing is for two (2) different mail envelopes from two different airlines of the past. Each has rare features about them that makes them collectable to different audiences. Pan American World Airways and TWA Trans World Airlines. Please read below and also look at pictures closely if you are interested. One price gets both. Our first picture is the two envelopes together. The second, third and fourth pictures are of the Pan American Airways envelope sent to Ecuador with 1938 dated stamps on it. The fifth, sixth and seventh pictures are of the TWA envelope sent with a 1957 postmark on the front. The Pan American World Airways letter was a "Airmail Test" letter sent by a Pan Am employee to Ecuador, testing the time it took to be received as well as knowing that it was received. The back of that envelope has a red colored stamping on it that reads in part "AIR MAIL TEST RECEIVED". This is a rare item. It 3 3/4" x 5" in size. The TWA envelope advertises "TWA Non-Stop Jetstream New York to Rome". Apparently new or newer service that they were flying to and from? It is post marked "New York (IDL) N.Y. Air mail field PTS". This appears to be from where it was sent. It is addressed to a person but no city or state was included on the envelope. A postal worker wrote "Try Scottdale PA" on the front. The back has a post mark of Scottdale PA on Oct 7 1957 and also a post mark of "10-11 1957 Ferrovia Posta Aerea". It is 3 3/4" x 6 3/4" in size. These will be carefully packaged and then sandwiched with cardboard to protect them during mailing. They will be sent the day following payment.
