Description: Pair of striking gilt ottomans by noted interior designer Sally Sirkin Lewis for J Robert Scott. Designed in the Empire style popular on the European continent in the early 19th century, they combine many features found on period originals. Turned legs with melon-ribbed details, acanthus leaves, and both matte and high sheen gilding. Upholstered in the original cream silk, that will need cleaning or replacing. The padding is firm and in excellent condition. Minor signs of wear to the gilt bases, but extremely minor. Dimensions: 19.5” to the top of the upholstered seat, 17” wide and 17” deep. 13” to the underside of the seat frames. No smoking, no pet estate. A fine addition to any home or collection!
