Description: A Pair of Regency Tole Painted Chestnut Urns, having gilt musical instruments and foliate decoration on a black ground, with peaked lids, having gilt lion and ring handles. This striking pair are hand painted and have a classic form, making them a striking addition to any decor. The bases are weighted, giving them a solid feel. There are a few minor blemishes to the exterior, as can be seen in the photographs, but these urns have been well cared. I believe these to date to the early twentieth century. They both measures just over 12” tall, the opening is about 4-1/2” wide, and the overall piece is 5” wide, from handle to handle.
