Description: Pair of Antique Danish Gothic portraits. Ca.1850s. Signed. Dimensions: 14 x 18 inches without frame. 18 x 22 inches with frame. Description: Pencil and charcoal on paper. Both signed. ( hard to read, please see photos) Both works are inscribed on the back: Portrait of Ludvig Emil Quistgaard ( 1801-1868) and his wife, Henriette Bruun de Neergaard ( 1804 – 1889), whom he married in 1831. The works dates back to the mid 19th century ( 1850-1860s). Fine pair of Danish gothic portraits. Very detailed painted and framed in their authentic black painted salon frames. ( please note that we will ship this pair with original frames, but without the glass to prevent damage during transit. If you wish the glass, then contact us for a quote ) Condition: Ready to hang. There are some few smudges on the surface of the works and worn out edges due to the old age. Otherwise fine. The original frames have minor scratches due to the age.
