Description: 1777 Solid Silver Pair of Georgian Sauce / Gravy Boats Full English Hallmarks for London 1777. Lovely pair sauce boats decorated in rococo style with Repousse floral sprays decorations, curved acanthus type handles, each boat standing straight, each on three good legs with wide paw feet. In very good pre-loved and used antique condition with a pre life of some 250 years, there are two very minor splits to one boat near the handle and towards the centre at the rim; the hallmarks are rubbed but can be seen under a strong loupe. They are handmade items with some natural makers marks, but do not appear to have any nasty dings or dents, splits, tears or repairs. They are full of character. No makers mark, as sometimes occurred in that era. This is beautiful antique English Georgian Silver, with its own history and character. If you like items to be as new these may not be right for you. Tested and are water tight. Measurements approximately: Height to the top of the handle: 12cm (4.3/4”) Spout to handle: 16cm (6.1/4”) Weight: 530g Maximum capacity each: 285ml (1/2 pint) I have given it a quick wipe over, but as with all my items I don't over clean or polish. There may be the odd age related wear/mark commensurate with age, anything of note is listed above. Please see all photos using the zoom function available, as they constitute the item description. Please note where possible packaging is recycled. If purchasing via expedited shipping despatch time will be one working day maximum. I only ship internationally via eBay’s GSP service, as the U.K. does not provide a fully tracked service. Check out my other listings for more antique, vintage and collectable silver.
