Description: New Oxford Annotated Bible NRSV New Revised Standard Version Genuine Leather Berkshire 9914 This is a beautiful and rare early edition of the New Oxford Annotated Bible, an academic standard for Study Bibles. While it was stored upright for a short period of time that caused the bottom of the leather to crimp, the rest is in fantastic shape. The the page edge gilding is in essentially unused condition and I found no writing at all. I easily found pages still stuck together, indicating they had not been turned. The first editions had the finest paper quality and leather (either pigskin or Berkshire). If I didn’t have another burgundy one, I’d never part with this. The binding is thick, beautiful, and smooth. The rich grain is stunning and the red is rich under the right lighting conditions. There may be an abrasion on the front cover, or it’s just something I can’t quite get off. All considered, it’s in fantastic shape for a Protestant canon (more difficult to find) and the best edition with the best paper and a fine binding.
