At that time, due to the political situation, it was an amateur race, so the start of the "capitalist" cycling stars of that time was excluded. Nevertheless, the organizers were able to give the event an international character thanks to the start of competitors from the socialist camp, and workers' organizations from Italy, France and Finland also sent their representatives. The race was officially called Slavjantour and was run between Prague and Warsaw. It wasn't until 1950 that the competition was officially held under the name Zavod Miru.Gradually, the race gained in popularity and importance, although it remained listed only for amateurs. From 1952, then East Germany was added to the host countries and races were held between Prague, Berlin and Warsaw. The starting locations of the opening stage and the goals of the final act alternated. In the eighties of the twentieth century, the then Soviet Union was also included in the list of host countries. After the breakup of the Czechoslovak Federation, in the spring of 1993, for the first time, it was driven almost exclusively on the territory of the Czech Republic. Thirteen years later, the last year of the Peace Race took place. Economic problems caused the collapse of the organization. The German Steffen Wesemann won the most victories in history. However, his five triumphs date back to the period after 1989, when the Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia (Wiki).
