Designed by: Oldrich Posmurny (1942-2010), most likely in 1972 Printed in: issued by Publishing House Svoboda for Czechoslovak Ministry of Culture, April 1972, printed by OTK 23 Total measurements: approx. 82,5x57,5cm Condition report: poster was stored folded, shows fold lines, also shows some tears and creasing especially on edges, in corners and in fold lines, some yellowing and stains, mailing stamps and remains of tape from the backside Historical context: Antonin Macek (1872-1923) was a Czech left-wing journalist, writer, playwright and poet.In 1895, he became a member of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party and from 1897 contributed to its press. In 1921, he co-founded the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.In the police applications from 1900 and 1903, he stated his residence in Nusle, the occupation "accountant of the Red Law", or "accountant and editor". His life, including his death, was affected by the fact that he became almost deaf after scarlet fever. Due to health reasons, he did not finish his studies at the gymnasium and trained as a carver. Despite his incomplete education, he devoted himself to the private study of art history, literature and philosophy. He also studied languages. The cause of death was complications from an old otitis media. He was buried at the Olsan Cemetery in Prague (Wiki).
