Original Vintage das Rad German Magazine, November 1966

Description: I grew up in Altoona, PA and attended Roosevelt Junior High School. In seventh grade I took an introduction to German course taught by Mr. John Myers. In addition to our German textbook, Mr. Myers provided us copies of das Rad which was a fun and accessible introduction to German that engaged beginners of all abilities and interests. This German magazine included short articles, news, puzzles, infographics and more. The das Rad publications were vibrant and visual magazines packed with the biggest news stories of the day from around the German-speaking world. Mr. Myers used the das Rad magazines to help students not only begin to learn the German language but the culture as well. Like other classes held at Roosevelt Junior High School, I kept my German class notebook and all the das Rad magazines that I obtained during this course. These items were packed in air tight plastic containers and stored in my parents’ house until the death of my Mom in 2006. While clearing out my parents’ house for sale I transported these containers back to our Manassas, VA home. I have retained these containers for over 15 years; however, upon relocating from Manassas, VA to Fort Myers, FL the condominium we purchased in Fort Myers does not have the adequate closet or storage space to indefinitely retain these containers. Subsequently, I have decided to post these das Rad magazines for sale on eBay. The next item for sale is this das Rad magazine dated November 1966. The front cover of this das Rad magazine dated November 1966 is shown in the first attached high resolution photograph. This magazine contains has an orange color header and measures 7 ¼ inches wide and 9 ¾ inches high. The magazine is comprised of two sheets (double sided) of paper 15 inches wide and 9 ¾ inches high. Even with the minor aging of the paper, the magazine is in excellent condition.
