In the letter Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion writes to Yehuda Leib Ha'Kohen Fishman (later Maimon, 1875-1962) who was then serving as Israel's first Minister of Religion. The prime minister discusses the current ongoing campaigns against the Egyptian army in the Sinai peninsula and Gaza, and also addresses the ongoing dispute between the two men concerning the import of Kosher meat, which the prime minister hopes can be settle reasonably "with some good will and common sense", while also chastising Fishman for continuing the dispute, during this time of crisis. "... Even a controversy for the sake of heaven should be set aside while we have a controversy with Egypt, [British Foreign Secretary Ernest] Bevin and other enemies of our land...". There seem to be a few period text corrections in pen. The letter is signed at the bottom left-hand side in pen by Ben-Gurion.Text in Hebrew.Extremities with some tears, not affecting the text.
