Description: Original Soviet field post card for service personnel to send mail home, this one has the text of the "new" Soviet national anthem (Hymn of the Soviet Union) which was written in 1944. Printed on thin card, it has the date on the front of 4th March 1944, on the reverse it has a written date of 29th of January 1945, it also has a couple of post office stamps, it was sent to an address in Moscow. Field post cards are very similar to the letter forms, but not sealed, pre-printed areas for the sender to put the recipients address, and his field post office details in the sender section.
