Description: Show your beautiful American vehicle some respect, and don't defile it with poorly made reproductions. You have the rare opportunity to own an original! What an interesting piece of history. The United States entered into WWII in December of 1941, a day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. An order from the US Office of Production Management required all US car manufacturers to end their production of automobiles by February 22, 1942. The auto industry was quickly retooled to manufacture tanks, trucks, jeeps, airplanes, bombs, torpedoes, steel helmets, and ammunition. Production year 1942 was an all time low for US automobile companies. For Dodge, the 1942 model year was probably the shortest in production history, plummeting to only 68,522 units. Many of the Dodge emblems were utilized on models for multiple years. You have the rare opportunity to own an original trunk badge that was only utilized in 1942. I specialize in car emblems from 1935 - 1975 and have over 100 more to choose from: Visit my store! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am happy to help.
