Original WINCHESTER Model 1906, pump action, round rifle barrel chambered in .22 Short. The Winchester Model 1906 rifle was produced from 1906 to 1932. This is an earlier production model, because in 1918, they changed the barrel marking to "Model 06". Bluing is correct for the period, turning a brown or plum color. Sight dovetails and threads are in good shape. These .22 Short guns were used extensively as Gallery guns at Amusement Parks, Carnivals, and shooting clubs across the United States. Many times firing tens of thousands of low power lead rounds down the tube. The rifling in this barrel is dark, not deep, with possible corrosion, erosion, or extensive lead buildup. Will need to be extensively scrubbed and cleaned to confirm just how strong it really is. Muzzle end rifling shown in pics 7 & 8. Breech end rifling pics 12, & 13. Measures .743" at the breech end, .578" at the muzzle end. Weight is 1 lb., 12 ozs. Will require fitting and installation by a professional, qualified, trained, gunsmith, and NO, I do NOT mean your cousin Bubba who also fixes washing machines!!!
