Description: This is a hand cut, one-of-a-kind, original picture rock sandstone pendant created by Bob Caruso, sculptor and artist who lives in Orderville, Utah. He uses sandstone from a claim near Snowflake, Arizona for his work and creates each piece individually, influenced by the natural patterns of the stone. The colors are completely natural and you will receive the exact same pendant that you see in these pictures which were shot outside in direct sunlight. For the geologists looking at this listing, the rock, comes from of the Toroweap formation which is a mix of sandstone, limestone and gypsum that was deposited in warm, shallow seas 250 million years ago. The colorful banding and patterns are completely natural and were produced when limonite (iron oxide) present in the ground water permeated the rock layers.
