The reproductions are more of a matte finish. I coat mine so they won't stain the face on the doll. You can tell by how matte they are. If you do buy give me a call and I can tell you what to use to coat the glasses so it wont stain the doll. That info is free of charge. I don't want you to find in time that the glasses stained the face and trust me it won't come off once it stains. Look at that beautiful hair!
