Description: This is a beautiful piece by artist Guy Rowbury. Framed, it measures 16 x 8.5 inches. The visible artwork measures 11 x 3 inches. Guy Rowbury Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1946, Guy comes from a family of artists with father, brother and sister all gifted painters. Though having no formal art training, his paintings reveal the innate talent of someone who has loved painting since early childhood. He started painting old buildings and cars, but around 1977 he began moving back in time and fell in love with the Old West. Living most of his life near the Tetons and Rocky Mountains, Guy uses them often as backdrops for his Indians, tepees, mountain men and animals. Guy works mostly with opaque watercolor (Gouache). He gets a striking richness with it that transparent watercolor doesnt have and a softness not attainable with acrylic or oil. Guys work has been featured in many shows including the C.M. Russell Show in Great Falls, Montana, the Classic American Western Art Show in Beverly Hills, California and the Boise Art Museum Show in Idaho. Currently Guy lives with his family in Ronan, Montana.
