Description: Rare to see the design with phrasing in German and rare as a 1 liter wine pitcher/jug! Tan or beige jug contrasts so well with the deep cobalt blue grapes and leaves pattern! German wording (also in blue) on banner wraps around the jug and states 'Trinkt wie eure vater aus stein den wein,' which means 'drink from the stone(ware) as your fathers did.' Two cherubs carry a large bunch of grapes just below the spout. Pitcher is 8 inches tall, 6 inches wide including handle and has a 3 inch base. Spouted opening is 2 1/2 inches at the widest point. The one liter (1L) capacity mark is located just to the left, when facing the handle. Circular ink stamp on the bottom was in use from 1960-1990 and states 'W. Germany Original Gerzit Gerz.'
