This hand-colored map of the Keweenaw Point predates much of the copper mining but map shows location of the Cliff Mine, the Phoenix Mine, Copper Falls, the Western, and many others. Colors indicate sandstone, conglomerate, trap rock, jasper, and chlorite. This map is likely part of the Foster & Whitney Survey of the Copper Lands of Lake Superior published in 1850. Rare.
