Description: Original lithograph executed exclusively for art revue Noise, Number 6, in 1986. Printed on thick Lana vellum paper by Imprimerie Arte and published by Maeght Éditeur. Limited edition of 2000. Sheet size: 14 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. Mint condition new old-stock. Noise was the successor to Derrière le Miroir, with 19 issues published during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Printing standards were of the same high quality as Derrière le Miroir. Unlike Derrière le Miroir, Noise focused on lessor known artists, and each issue featured original lithographs from multiple artists, whereas Derrière le Miroir issues tended to be monographs. We were fortunate to obtain a cache of new old-stock Noise editions in mint condition. Peter Chevalier (born 1953) is a German artist who studied art at the University of Art Braunschweig under Hermann Albert and Alfred Rust and is primarily associated with Surrealism. Since 1992, he has held a professorship at the University of Stuttgart.
