Original 1969 Olivetti Concept and Form London Exhibition Poster Clino Castelli

Description: This poster is original, not a reprint or reproduction. It was created by industrial design artist Clino T. Castelli for the now-legendary Olivetti exhibition staged in Paris in 1969. The exhibit traveled to Barcelona, Madrid, Edinburgh and London, and finally ended in Tokyo in 1971. The poster features Castelli’s reimagining of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man (also known as “The proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius”). The dates, hours, and location of this London (English-language) exhibition appear at the bottom. The poster is printed on medium-weight paper stock and measures 20 inches x 30 inches. It is in good overall condition with bright colors, although each corner has the misfortune of thumbtack holes and tears from previous display (please see photos). Luckily, each hole/tear is close to the poster edge, so a matte and/or frame will easily cover them. Please note: the poster’s background color is a dark blue, even if the photos suggest it is black. In 1964 Castelli began at Olivetti in Milan in the studio of architect-designer Ettore Sottsass. He was part of the growing ‘Arte Povera’ movement in Turin, comparing himself with artists like Michelangelo Pistoletto, Piero Gilardi, and Alighiero Boetti. We are a smoke-free/pet-free home.
