Description: Original 1900 antique bird's-eye-view of the Holy Land and a color lithographed map of Palestine, printed back-to-back on a single sheet, plus a full-page key to selected features. The bird's-eye-view locates 235 sites, 29 rivers, and 26 mountains. It was engraved from A.J. Marks' large chromo lithograph, and the image area measures 25 x 31.2 cm [9¾" x 12¼"], with an overall page size of 11½" x 14½". On the reverse side there is a map of Palestine, with an index and population data for chief cities, including Bethlehem, Gaza, Haifa, Jerusalem, Nablus, and Nazareth. An accompanying sheet titled "Key to View of Holy Land" gives detailed descriptions of more than a dozen places, including Baalbec, Damascus, Beirut, Tyre, Nazareth, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Sea of Galilee, and the River Jordan.
