The map depicts political boundaries as they existed 20 years prior to the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913. The area north of Thessaly and the Khassia Mountains was part of Turkey when this map was published. There is wonderful detail throughout, including cities, towns, submarine telegraph lines, and natural features, with an inset plan of the Cyclades. Other amed places include Larissa, Kalamata, Sparta, Missolonghi, Morea, Laconia, Gulf of Arcadia, Negropont, Zante, Patras, Athens, Hydra Island, Kalamata, Patras, Corinth, and Lamia. The image area measures 34.3 x 26.6 cm [13½" x 10½"], and longitude is measured from Washington and Greenwich. This is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. It was published by George Franklin Cram, Chicago, in 1893.
