The Collection of Japanese Origata INTRODUCTION: Japan has its own culture of origata, which is the style of folding paper when wrapping gifts with Japanese paper. The method of origata differs depending on what is wrapped, and most of the names are derived from what is wrapped. This book covers most of origata, the traditional wrapping methods used during the 400 years from the 16th century to the 19th century, and introduces 160 types. It also includes the creation methods for 160 types, as well as finished photos. All the sculptural shapes of origata are beautiful and you will be able to turn the pages happily. We think it is also effective for people who want to use it as a wrapping idea. All content is in Japanese. Biography of origataDuring the Muromachi period, there were people who specialized in such decorative wrapping. In the Edo period, origata were organized into a system by ritualists, shrines, and Hochonin, and were passed down as secrets. It?s defined not only how to fold paper, but also the meaning of give a gift, how to give it, how to receive it, how to put it, and the principles of good and evil .Later, Sadatake Ise, a well-known scholar of samurai etiquette in the Edo period, left behind his works "Tsutsumi no Musubiki" and "Teijo Zakki" and made Origata available to the general public. As the times went by, they were adopted by the general public as a culture and put into practical use. Japanese origami, which is widely known today, was developed for play during the Edo period, and the meaning and manners of the original origami have been lost. Comments from usUnfortunately, the beautiful style of origata introduced in this book is rarely seen in modern Japan. We Japanese only see origata of them as decorations for ceremonial items at shrines or traditional wedding items. This book is very unique as it contains 160 examples of origata and explains how to make them. The layout of the figures and text is also beautiful. We highly recommend this book. --------------------All content is in Japanese.
