Description: Description: A partial nodule (more correctly, 'orbicule') of orbicular granite from Boogardie Station near Mount Magnet, Western Australia. The Boogardie orbicular granite deposit occurs within the 2.7 billion year old Big Bell Suite in the northern Youanmi Terrane of Western Australia's Yilgarn Craton. The orbicules in this granite are composed largely of white plagioclase feldspar and large, black, radially aligned hornblende crystals. This particular specimen has weathered naturally out of its granitic matrix and was collected as is. Dimensions: 105 mm x 95 mm x 35 mm at widest points. Weight: 325 g. Combined shipping available upon request. Photographed under LED light - appearance may differ in other light settings.
