The 44.25 mm case is crafted from titanium and the caseback is distinguished by a colourful, etched Solar Impulse patch. The dial is made of black carbon fibre similar to the HB-SIA’s composite covering. A central GMT hand, which completes one rotation in 24 hours, can be used to read a second time zone. The specially designed rubber strap has a distinctive, textured finish on the inside, reminiscent of Solar Impulse’s carbon fibre-honeycomb composite structure. The strap comes in black, which perfectly matches the dial, or in orange, complementing the subtle ochre HB-SIA lettering on the dial and the designation, “TACHYMETER BASE 1000” on the titanium bezel. The Speedmaster HB-SIA GMT is also offered with a matching titanium bracelet. Titanium’s light weight allows optimal wearer comfort and its strength makes it particularly resistant to corrosion.
