Description: Old Vintage ACORN Cottage model Wood Burning Parlor Stove Very Good Condition with wonderful cast patterns and details in high relief. This was made by the Phillips and Clark company of Geneva New York. Most likely in the mid to late 1800s. This is a front loader, top loader or side loader stove made for burning wood it is NOT made for coal. It is complete, all the doors lock snugly, the air control slides work easily, the front door works, the side door works, the top has a flat surface for cooking on and there are two lift off discs for loading wood.. the dome top slides to the side and lifts off easily.. the finial at the top is slightly distorted at the bottom and needs some reshaping work but it's all there. The patterned stand/base is solid and intact. There are no breaks in the cast iron anywhere the floor of the stove is in very good solid condition. The stand has a footprint of about two and a half feet long by 20" wide..the side door opening is 10" wide by 18" high looks like it could handle about 18" long pieces easily. The stove is about 13" wide on the inside and really about 20" long or deep on the inside so I think you could have a pile of wood in there that was about 12 by 18 by 18 that's a pretty good size. These old stoves are not generally airtight so you would want to start small fires at first and get used to operating the slide dampers and the flip damper in the exhaust piping ...see all the photos under magnification and if you have any questions please ask them before making a purchase thank you. This is a local pickup only sale unless you can arrange all the handling and shipping involved. You must bring at least two people to help load it.
