Description: Here is a vintage printing of a U.S. Senate speech by Hon. R.F. Pettigrew, delivered in 1894. It measures about 8 3/4 X 5 1/2 inches and has 16 pages. The speech was in consideration of a bill that would forbid the government to issue bonds used to buy gold in order to redeem currency while the common American had to accept silver (silver standard). (Until this time the United States monetary system had used both silver and gold.) Please see pictures and ask any questions. Thank you for looking. (Inv A25,075)
