You will see some brown / tan on the sign that is the wax paper used to separate the signs from getting paint on one another. It does not come off very easily it has been on there for 40 years, you can scratch with a fingernail and it will come off, but I think it adds to the beauty of the peace when you see it. The signs have some scratches, rust, dings, dents and bends. Some were re-purposed for Trail marker signs.
