Description: This offering is for an antique stoneware jar. The jar measures app. 8.5" in height and 5 7/8" in diameter at the base. Now, this is one gnarly stoneware jar. The jar sags down on one side, visible at the top. There are also a couple of pushed or dented in spots, kiln burns and both broken bits of pottery adhered to the surface and some spalling from having been stuck to another piece in the kiln. The base show five spots where the stacking furniture was and there is an indented rim that encircles the jar just above the base edge. There is also a spot of stuck clay on the lip with a small spall and a short crack in the lip. In short the jar is amazing in that the potter didn't throw it into the discard pile. It displays beautifully, at least in my opinion. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 24.00 for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking, at no additional cost.
