Description: Here we have a very old Coushatta Pine Needle Basket. This basket was bought by a relative of mine in the late 1950's on her travels. She purchased several basket and she had a sheet of paper that she had wrote names down on on the items she purchased. On the list she had put pine needle basket bought from Bonnie Battise. So I'm assuming that was the maker of the basket. The basket measures 10 inches across x 3 1/2 inches tall. It is in very good condition for it age the only damage is shown in photos, is on the rim of basket about 4 inches of the finish has game lose. There are now only a handful of Alabama-Coushatta members who make baskets regularly. Please look at all the pictures they are a very important part of the description.
